Against the documents it cites
When a figure points to an annual report, a note or a filing, Velydian opens that document and checks the figure against the passage, the period and the basis it reports.
For accounting, audit and finance teams
Velydian checks each figure and statement in a board pack, annual report, memo or deck against the financial statements, filings and studies it relies on, and flags where a number or its meaning has drifted.

“Revenue grew 12% in 2025.”
“Reported sales increased by 8.4%. Organic growth, excluding currency and acquisitions, was 12%.”
Cited annual report, page 14
The 12% is organic growth. Reported revenue grew 8.4%.
The stakes
Cash on Wirecard's balance sheet that its auditor could not confirm in 2020. The company then said the balances most likely did not exist.
Wirecard AG statements, June 2020What Volkswagen's false emissions claims had cost the company by 2019, in fines, settlements and refits.
Volkswagen provisions, reported by Ward's Auto (2019)What it catches
Each one with the claim, the passage Velydian reads, and the verdict. Examples for illustration.
“Revenue grew 12% in 2025.”
“Reported sales increased by 8.4%. Organic growth was 12%.”Needs Revision
The 12% is organic growth.
“Net debt fell to CHF 412 million.”
“Net debt: CHF 421 million.”Needs Revision
Two digits swapped between the note and the summary.
“The operating margin was 18.5%.”
Operating profit 212; revenue 1,276. Recomputed margin: 16.6%.Not Supported
The stated margin does not follow from the figures in the same statements.
“Margins reached 20% in 2025.”
“We target a margin of 20% by 2025.”Not Supported
The source states a target, not an outcome.
“Free cash flow doubled year on year.”
“Free cash flow, H1: 96 (H1 prior year: 48).”Needs Revision
Half-year figures, presented as the full year.
“The order backlog stood at CHF 2.3 billion.”
“Order backlog at year end: CHF 2.3 billion.”Supported
Matches the annual report, with the passage kept for the file.
Not another fact checker
Velydian checks the figures. It also weighs what a report does with them: the explanation it gives and how strongly it states it. A number can be right and the sentence around it can still mislead the board.
“Our cost programme lifted the operating margin to 16.6%.”Needs RevisionSource: the company’s own annual report. Example for illustration.
Figures, dates, periods and quotations, checked against what the statements actually say.
Does the note say CHF 412 million or CHF 421 million?
Whether a conclusion follows from the figures: organic growth read as reported, a one-off read as a trend, a target read as a result.
Did the cost programme do this, or something else?
Whether the statement is as strong as its evidence: the good year cited, the lowered guidance in the same report left out.
Is this the whole picture the board should see?
How it works
PDF, Word, text or Markdown, or paste it in. Velydian finds each figure and statement and checks it in one of three ways.
When a figure points to an annual report, a note or a filing, Velydian opens that document and checks the figure against the passage, the period and the basis it reports.
Velydian searches company reports and filings published online, official statistics and the wider web, keeps the strongest sources and checks the figure against them.
Attach the audited statements, last quarter’s board pack or the auditor’s report, and every statement is checked against them. You see the price before it starts.
Three layers of checking
Figures that drift, periods that shift, a basis quietly changed.
A half-year figure presented as the full year.
Selective citation, a figure the cited report does not contain, and what was left out.
The upgraded forecast is cited; the profit warning in the same filing is not.
When a figure rests on a weak source, Velydian looks for a more authoritative one.
A figure quoted from a news article is flagged, with the company’s own filing offered instead.
One verdict per claim
The statements or filings checked back the figure as written.
Close, but a digit, the period or the basis (organic or reported, adjusted or reported) does not match.
The documents checked do not back the figure, or say something different.
No document could be read or found that settles it, for example a figure from an internal file you did not attach.
Open any verdict to see the passage and the reasoning behind it. Correct a figure or swap a source and it is checked again. Velydian weighs the evidence; your team decides what to change.
How we test it
When the evidence is not clear, Velydian sends the figure back to you instead of approving it. These are our latest tests, on the kind of documents your team signs.
Small tests, dated. The best test is your own: run a report where you already know the mistakes, and see whether Velydian finds them. Your first check is free.

Cost
Checking a claim costs 5 credits and reading a source costs 1. Deeper source audits cost more. Your reviewers still read the verdicts; Velydian takes the tracing off their desk.
Questions
Yes. Attach your own files and every statement is checked against them.
Where a stated figure can be derived from figures in the same document, such as a margin or a growth rate, Velydian checks that it follows.
No. It does the tracing: finding and reading the document behind each figure. Your reviewers keep the judgement, with the evidence laid out for them.
Attach the document it comes from, as PDF, Word or text, and the figure is checked against it. If no document settles it, the verdict says Unverifiable instead of guessing.
Three places. The sources your document cites; sources Velydian finds on official websites, research databases and the wider web for claims without a citation; or your own files, if you attach them.
When you run a check, your document’s text is sent over an encrypted connection to our servers and AI services in Switzerland and the EU. To find evidence, short search queries built from your claims are sent to web and scholarly search services. Your document’s content and results are deleted automatically about 24 hours after your check; source links and summary data are kept.
English is measured and in daily use. German and French are in validation.
Velydian supports human review. It shows the evidence behind every verdict so you can decide. In high-stakes work, expert judgement stays essential.
