Weigh the evidence behind every claim.

Every document, in every profession, mixes facts, figures, statistics, indexes, quotes, interpretations and judgements. Velydian checks every claim against cited sources, sources it finds on the web, or your own files. It flags references that do not exist and goes beyond right or wrong: each claim gets a verdict on how far its source really supports it, with the quoted passage and reasoning behind it.

Not another fact checker

Not just right or wrong. Supported or not.

Velydian checks facts. It also weighs what a text does with them: the conclusions it draws and how strongly it states them. A sentence can be accurate and still claim more than its evidence allows.

One claim, three levels“Working from home increases productivity by 13%.”Needs RevisionSource: Bloom, Liang, Roberts & Ying (2015), Quarterly Journal of Economics 130(1):165–218
  1. Level 1

    Facts

Figures, dates, names and quotations, checked against what the source actually says.

Does the source say 900 islands or 1,500?

Velydian findsSupportedThe 13% is in the study.A citation check stops here: true.
  2. Level 2

    Interpretation

Whether a conclusion follows from the evidence: a correlation read as a cause, one sample stretched into a general rule, a scope quietly widened.

Did the study show it, or only suggest it?

Velydian findsStretchedCall-centre staff at one Chinese travel company, who volunteered. Not “working from home” in general.
  3. Level 3

    Judgement

Whether the claim is as strong as its evidence: certainty where the source hedges, one favourable study where others disagree, a weak source where a stronger one exists.

Is this the whole picture, stated with the right confidence?

Velydian findsOverstatedOne study, stated as a rule for everyone.Verdict: Needs Revision. The figure is real; the claim reaches further than its evidence.

Works today

Three ways to check claims.

A text that cites its sources

Upload a PDF or Word file, or paste text. Velydian finds each claim, opens the source it cites and checks whether the source really says it.

A text with no sources

Velydian searches official websites, research papers and the wider web for each claim, keeps the strongest sources and checks the claim against them.

Against your own files

Attach your own documents and have every statement checked against them. You see the price before it starts.

Check an AI answer or a social post in one click

A Velydian button on the AI page sends the answer and the sources it cited to Velydian together, and each claim is checked against what its source really says. An answer that cites nothing still works: Velydian finds the claims and looks for the evidence itself.

On LinkedIn and X, a slim Velydian banner sits on the right of the page: select a sentence in a post and click it. On any other site, including Facebook and Reddit, select text, right-click and choose “Verify with Velydian”. Results open in Velydian, in their own tab.

Three layers of checking

Surface tools check that a source exists. Velydian reads it.

Layer 1

Distortions and inaccuracies

Claims that overstate, misrepresent or twist what the source says.

A precedent cited for a rule the court never adopted.

Layer 2

Bias and fabrication

Selective citation, cherry-picked data, invented references and what was left out.

The favourable data is cited; the adverse findings in the same source are not.

Layer 3

Stronger sources

When the evidence is weak or missing, Velydian looks for a more authoritative source.

A blog summary of a rule is flagged, with the regulator's own text offered instead.

One verdict per claim

Four verdicts, each with its evidence.

Supported

The sources checked back the claim as written.

Needs Revision

Close, but a figure, a qualifier or the scope does not match the source.

Not Supported

The sources checked do not back the claim, or say something different.

Unverifiable

No source could be read or found that settles it either way.

Open any verdict to inspect the evidence and the reasoning behind it. Edit a claim or swap a source and it is checked again. Velydian weighs the evidence; you decide what to change.

How we test it

It does not wave a wrong figure through.

Our latest tests are on company reports, where a wrong figure costs most. When the evidence is not clear, Velydian sends the claim back to you instead of approving it.

Questions

Before your first check.

What exactly does Velydian check?

Every claim in your text. A claim with a citation is checked against the cited source. A claim without one is checked against the strongest sources Velydian finds. Each claim gets a verdict with the quoted evidence behind it.

Does it work with answers from AI chats?

Yes. Paste or upload an answer from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, NotebookLM or Google AI Mode today. The Chrome extension sends the answer and its sources to Velydian in one click; it is coming to the Chrome Web Store.

What happens to my document?

When you run a check, your document’s text is sent over an encrypted connection to our servers and AI services in Switzerland and the EU. To find evidence, short search queries built from your claims are sent to web and scholarly search services. Your document’s content and results are deleted automatically about 24 hours after your check; source links and summary data are kept.

Can I rely on Velydian as my only check?

Velydian supports human review. It shows the evidence behind every verdict so you can decide. In high-stakes work, expert judgment stays essential.

Check your next text before someone else does.
